This is so cool! But what country are they from? “Africa” is really vague.

Their names are Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, Faleke Oluwatoyin, and Bello Eniola and they’re from Lagos, Nigeria. There’s a neat video about them here.

Apparently, this has been around for more than a few years at this point. Why am I not peeing into generators right now?

So, I’m guessing this might not really be true, which kinda makes sense since the described process involves merely extracting hydrogen from the urine, and then using that to create electricity.

That’s all well and good, but know what also has tons of hydrogen in it, and is more plentiful than urine? Water. There’s nothing special about the hydrogen content of pee. Why not just use water, right?

Well, the jury is still out on whether or not running engines on water is effective, economical, possible.

No reason to stop dreaming, though.
